Arts Award Silver with Let’s Animate
Qualification: Level 2 (formal Level 2 RQF qualification), certificate from Trinity College London
Age: 14+
Guided Learning Hours: ~30–40 hours (workshops, mentoring, group and individual support)
Independent Hours: ~20–30 hours (planning and delivering projects, leading activities, portfolio and reflection work)
Overview: Encourages independence, leadership, and higher-level creative skills. Participants produce more complex projects, reflect critically, and support others in creative activities.
Arts Award Silver is a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification designed for young people aged 14 and above.
Delivered through Let’s Animate, it supports participants in developing advanced creative skills, exploring the arts in greater depth, and taking on leadership roles within creative projects.
As the next step after Bronze, Silver encourages young people to work more independently, challenge themselves creatively, and reflect thoughtfully on their progress.
Through our animation-based programme, participants plan and produce more developed animation work, research artists and creative industries, and gain experience in leading and supporting others.
During the programme, participants:
Plan and create a personal animation project, developing their technical and creative skills
Set themselves creative challenges and review their progress
Research artists, animators, or creative organisations and reflect on their work
Take part in and review an arts event, experience, or opportunity
Lead and support others in a creative activity, developing leadership and communication skills
Record their journey in a structured arts portfolio
Arts Award Silver is a portfolio-based qualification with no exams and is accredited by Trinity College London. It is recognised as a Level 2 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), supporting progression into further education and creative pathways.
Let’s Animate delivers Silver through supportive, structured sessions that encourage independence, creativity, and leadership.
It is ideal for schools, colleges, and youth organisations looking to provide a meaningful qualification that helps young people build confidence, develop their artistic voice, and take the next step in their creative journey through animation.
